Vero has announced its partnership with RMIT University, giving students deeper exposure to the realities of the ever-evolving media and communications landscape in Vietnam.

This partnership between one of Vietnam’s leading academic institutions and an award-winning regional communications consultancy reflects the growing need for academia and industry to work hand in hand in preparing the next generation of communicators.

Brian Griffin, CEO and Founder of Vero, and Professor Donna Cleveland, Dean of the School of Communication & Design at RMIT, signed the Memorandum of Understanding on May 14, 2026, in Ho Chi Minh City.

As detailed in MOU, Vero and RMIT will advance work-integrated learning through hands-on training, internship and placement opportunities, knowledge-sharing, and research and thought leadership development. Vero is also set to contribute to the RMIT Professional Communication Program through industry board participation, which will include specialized learning sessions with students and the academic and professional staff.

“Through this partnership, we look forward to creating meaningful opportunities for our students and staff — from internships, mentorships, industry projects, workshops, and guest talks, to joint research initiatives and industry advisory engagement,” said Dr.Cleveland. “Most importantly, this collaboration reflects our shared commitment to preparing future-ready graduates who can contribute thoughtfully and creatively to Vietnam’s evolving communications landscape.”

“Curiosity is one of Vero’s core values and operating principles – and we believe that the strongest expressions of curiosity can be found among university students who are learning, questioning, and navigating what the future of communications looks like and where they sit within it,” said Griffin. “We at Vero are particularly proud of this collaboration with RMIT University in Vietnam because both organizations are on a mission to nurture young communicators who will help shape a responsible, ethical, and sustainable PR industry in the years ahead.”

Vero x RMIT Vietnam

Vero and RMIT’s partnership is effective for three years, allowing them to build a sustained bridge between academia and industry, and giving students consistent access to practical learning, industry mentorship, and real-world opportunities over time.

“Vietnam’s communications ecosystem is expanding rapidly and becoming more sophisticated. Emerging technologies, like AI, are reshaping how brands, media, and audiences interact, said Tran Kim Hoang Yen, Vero PR Account Director and an RMIT alumna.  Students working their way towards careers in the industry will need to be fully equipped, not just with technical knowledge, but with cultural understanding, ethical judgment, and the ability to adapt to how platforms, audiences, and trust dynamics continue to change. This collaboration between RMIT and Vero will give students the preparation they need to thrive in the industry.”

The MOU also formalizes a years-long collaboration between Vero and RMIT, with the organizations already holding lectures and industry-sharing sessions over the past several years in Vietnam. RMIT students have also been active participants in Vero’s annual nextGEN internship program.

As a certified B Corp, Vero has a long-standing commitment to supporting students and the academia across Southeast Asia. The consultancy has entered a similar partnership with LSPR Institute of Communications & Business in Jakarta, Indonesia, where it awarded scholarships to two students.
