Muôn Vạn Nét Nhà Mình uses Sony’s global Alpha platform to create a distinctly Vietnamese moment — celebrating family warmth, the ease of modern technology, and the joy of capturing the most precious memories.

Brief

Vietnam’s digital camera industry has undergone a major shift in recent years. As professional imaging technology becomes more accessible, a growing number of mainstream consumers, especially young familiesare becoming increasingly interested in owning a camera to document everyday life.

However, despite this growing interest, most young parents still perceive dedicated cameras as intimidating. The hesitation does not come from a lack of appreciation for image quality, nor from doubts about Sony’s technology. What holds them back is the feeling that owning a “professional” camera also requires professional-level knowledge. Aperture, shutter speed, ISO, focusing systems, color profiles, shooting modes, etc — the onboarding process feels complicated, technical, and difficult to adopt for people who simply want to capture meaningful moments with their families.

At the same time, Sony Alpha remained strongly associated with professional creators and filmmakers, while competitors were rapidly expanding their relevance among semi-professional and mainstream audiences in Vietnam.

The challenge, therefore, was not only to introduce Sony Alpha cameras (A6700, A7C Mark II, ZV-E10 II) to young Vietnamese families, but also to fundamentally reposition what a Sony camera could represent in everyday life: not a tool reserved for experts, but a companion that helps ordinary people preserve family moments naturally and confidently.

Strategy

The campaign was built around a simple but powerful tension: young parents already aspire to document family life beautifully, but they are intimidated by the perceived complexity of professional photography.

In Vietnam, family photography is no longer reserved for special occasions. A new generation of parents is actively capturing small, fleeting moments: a child’s first steps, weekend outings, dinner conversations, road trips, and everyday routines they know will one day become memories. Driven by social media, smartphones, and a rising appreciation for aesthetics, they already understand the emotional value of photography and feel a strong desire to preserve family life more intentionally,”  said Lan Trang, Senior Planner at Vero in Vietnam.

This created a strategic opportunity for Sony: instead of positioning photography as a technical hobby, the brand could reposition it as a family hobby, one that encourages families to spend more time together, create richer experiences, and preserve those moments more meaningfully.

Under the platform “Muôn Vạn Nét Nhà Mình” (“As True As Your Eyes”), the campaign reframed Sony cameras not as intimidating gadgets, but as an easy-to-adopt companion that empowers families to capture life as naturally as they remember it.

In this narrative, buying a Sony camera was no longer simply purchasing a device. It became an investment in a new family ritual: one that turns everyday experiences into lasting memories, gradually builds confidence through joyful usage, and ultimately nurtures a culture of family photography that grows alongside each stage of life.

Execution

The Sony campaign was structured around a holistic See  Feel  Do journey designed to move young parents in Vietnam from awareness to emotional connection and ultimately to active participation.

SEE: Reframing photography through emotional storytelling

The hero iTVC introduced Sony through emotionally relatable family moments rather than technical demonstrations. The film recreated fleeting situations so beautiful and emotionally charged that they naturally trigger the instinct to capture them before they disappear.

Importantly, the storytelling was designed from the perspective of the person behind the camera, allowing audiences to emotionally experience the role of preserving family memories themselves.

Sony’s AI-powered features became central to this iTVC. Rather than emphasizing technical mastery, the hero video highlighted how Sony removes friction from photography through intuitive autofocus, real-time tracking, stabilization, and intelligent automation, allowing even beginner parents to confidently capture beautiful moments from the very beginning.

FEEL: Turning product trial into memory-making

To deepen emotional engagement, Vero transformed a routine family outing into an immersive brand experience through the “Capybara Meet & Greet” activation at Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens.

Rather than creating a traditional product showcase, the activation was designed as a playful environment where families could naturally interact with Sony cameras while spending quality time together. Parents were not asked to “test camera features”; instead, they were invited to document authentic family experiences in a relaxed and emotionally rich setting. To further amplify the experience, family and lifestyle KOLs were invited to join the activation, helping translate the event into relatable, first-hand stories that resonated strongly with young parents across social platforms.

This approach allowed Sony to become part of the memory itself rather than merely the tool recording it.

DO: Turning a relatable pain point into participatory culture

To drive broader cultural relevance and participation in Vietnam, Sony tapped into a highly recognizable relationship tension among young couples: men often genuinely see their partners beautifully in real life, but consistently fail to capture that beauty in photos.

This insight became the foundation for a social-first narrative featuring musician Phan Mạnh Quỳnh and his wife. Through staged yet believable interactions, the campaign humorously dramatized a familiar frustration shared across countless Vietnamese relationships, quickly sparking conversation and engagement across social media and community platforms.

Sony then extended the conversation through a series of contextual Fake OOH placements that humorously called out common photo-taking mistakes while positioning Sony cameras as the effortless solution.

The narrative ultimately evolved into a TikTok challenge where KOLs and users recreated Sony’s “photo-taking mantra” in real-life scenarios, transforming an everyday relationship pain point into a highly shareable social behavior.

Results

By reframing Sony from a professional photography brand into a meaningful part of modern family life in Vietnam, “Muôn Vạn Nét Nhà Mình” successfully expanded Sony Alpha’s relevance beyond the traditional creator segment and into mainstream culture.

Most importantly, Sony is no longer perceived as a camera that demands technical expertise from the outset, but as a companion that supports and grows with families through every stage of their journey.
