Vero announces elevated roles in Southeast Asia

Vero, a Southeast Asia-focused integrated communications agency, today announced new appointments that exemplify the agency’s commitment to client service, innovation, and continued growth.

Group VP of Communications & Operations Umaporn Whittaker-Thompson has taken on more operational responsibility in Thailand and additional oversight of Vero’s influencer marketing, business development, and creative teams, which includes the agency’s recently-launched Influent stack of tech and services designed to enhance influencer marketing initiatives in Southeast Asia. Whittaker-Thompson will continue to oversee the Brand PR and Digital PR business units in Thailand.

“Each and every day, K. Umaporn demonstrates her ability to develop relationships, innovate, and bring an entrepreneurial spirit to her teams,” said Vero CEO Brian Griffin. “She works with an absolute growth mindset that inspires the people around her to work as a team and deliver for clients.”

Rachat “Blue” Ploungphet is assuming responsibility for leadership of the Vero influencer relations team in Thailand. This team currently serves clients with award-winning services across a variety of consumer lifestyle brands.

Pak Krairiksh will lead Vero’s own reputational efforts in Thailand, in addition to her current role within Vero’s regional planning team. She will support the agency’s efforts to deliver external communications about new developments at Vero to industry stakeholders.

Lye Alangdeo will assume more operational responsibilities in Indonesia, leading client services, nurturing talent, and spearheading the agency’s overall growth plans in Indonesia.

Claudia Pusung, a senior digital executive, is taking on more responsibilities to cultivate an influencer team in Indonesia. She also helped to innovate Influent, with the influencer landscape in Indonesia central to this new stack of tech and services.

Maria Clara Pambudi, HR Business Partner, will embrace new responsibilities in managing Vero people and culture duties in Jakarta.

In addition, Vero announced promotions, including Natnicha Chaisirilarp to Senior Account Manager; Prangthong Jitcharoenkul to Senior Account Manager;  and Wiwat Khamsawai to Senior Account Manager.

“These team members are stepping up and delivering results for great brands, providing wise support for Vero team members, and leading innovations that help us to better serve clients,” said Griffin.  “We are building for the future, with all of our efforts focused on serving clients at the highest level possible and providing the Vero team with the best possible professional experience.”

Thus far, in 2023, Vero has launched a series of innovations, including Reputation IQ, a data-driven strategy and measurement platform, and Influent, a new influencer marketing initiative.

Vero is also the first agency in Southeast Asia to sign the Clean Creative pledge to forsake all client contracts from fossil fuel brands, and it recently released a playbook on sustainability communications.
