This September, our Philippines squad moved into a new office space at WeWork Menarco Tower, Bonifacio Global City, to match the energy and needs of the growing team and collaborate in an environment that fuels fun, creativity, and inspiration. To welcome our folks to their new home, Vero threw an office warming party for country-based squad members and those who travelled all the way from Thailand and Vietnam.
The party’s concept was salu-saya, which means “together, we have fun”, and involved a set of activities inspired by vibrant Filipino fiestas such as Panagbenga (flower festival), MassKara (smiling faces festival), Sinulog (Sto. Nino festival), Pahiyas (harvest festival), Paru-Paro (butterfly festival), and Pintados (body painting festival).
The squad celebrated over a boodle-fight feast, a big, shared meal prepared on a long table, as is tradition during Filipino fiestas. The party then continued with exciting games, including a blind drawing game, find and break the egg, and Family Feud: Pinoy Edition.
During the celebration, Raphael Lachkar, Vero’s COO, gave a heartwarming opening speech to welcome the team to their new office and walked them through the Philippine business’ impact in the region and what to look forward to for the rest of the year.
A Flexible and Healthy Environment Designed to Put Our People’s Wellbeing First
Our squad members’ wellbeing has always been a strong focus at Vero. Since the COVID-19 lockdowns, we have decided to implement and maintain hybrid work, launching many culture-driven programs to make our workplace a happy and healthy environment for all. Vero’s flexible working policy means our squad can choose to work at the office, at home, or anywhere they prefer. And to ensure productivity at home, Vero provides a work-from-home budget to help squad members build comfortable and highly functional home office spaces.
At our new WeWork office in the Philippines, we made sure to include a variety of meeting rooms and work areas, as well as ample space for social activities and rest. At the office warming party, we also took the chance to introduce our Employee Wellbeing Program (EWP) in partnership with In Touch – a leading mental health services provider in the Philippines. We encourage our squad members to seek professional help whenever they feel they need to, as we know that life and work can be overwhelming at times. Early this year, we also rolled out our unlimited leave policy so that our folks have time to see friends and family, travel, be inspired, or simply have fun.
A Place to Nurture Our Core Values – Trust, Kindness, and Curiosity
At the new Philippine office, we installed a VSquad Appreciation Wall where our team members can stop by and drop off messages for their co-workers. This allows them to show their appreciation and encouragement for each other, strengthens bonds, and embraces our values of trust and kindness.
